Yesterdays dive:-

Posted by david on September 24, 2009

It started out with a bright sunny morning with super calm seas. The first dive was at the Chinese Reef, where we saw a huge Sting Ray and a couple of Lion fish. The Nurse Shark we saw the day before eluded us.

The second dive at the Throne Room was going great , then suddenly we heard the “phfft” sound of the dolphins exhaling. We thought they would have gone over to the divers but they werent interested. They jumped and played within 20 feet of the dive boat for a good 10 minutes. Naturally I took the opportunity to jump in with snorkel gear and swim with them while Al, a local divemaster candidate, watched from the boat.

There were seven of them, all seemed like a  group of young fellows with sizes ranging from 3 to 6 feet long. One had bruises on it’s dorsal fins, I had seen this one before, it seemed to be healing, another had white mark on the tip of its mouth/beek, like an old scar.

They allowed me to stay within 10 feet of them for a few minutes, they played and rubbed each other and jumped out and flipped I watched until I got tired and returned to the boat. Here are some facts about these amaizing creatures.

Will some one suggest names for them. I am sorry I didn’t have the camera.

Today we dive from the Negril Escape Resort and Spa. Its a 60 ft dive. Really cool and easy dive.
