The Toots Show was great…… more of you should have been here…. its amazing how well he has aged, yet he sounds the same as his original song performances. Can’t wait for the winter series line up. (Will post as soon as I know).

Sooo where are all the divers???? we need to see you….. its a great time to dive, calm seas clear waters , “no hurries nor worries” we will take small groups anyway…..one on one certifications are especially welcome….FOR the Jamaicans who would like to try something exciting and fullfilling come take the “Discover Scuba Diving” course with us…..in two hours you can be exploring the underwater world…..’SOME’ have said, after thier first experience, that “scuba diving in Negril is (almost) better than sex!!!!!!!” not to mention many similar comments……. so you all should try it….. we will offer special rates- call me!

After the Emancipation weekend things returned to a slow pace in Negril for us. We have a few divers doing courses so we spend a lot of time cleaning up and tweaking. Our new shop still isnt ready so we are operating ‘mainly’ from the NEGRIL ESCAPE RESORT AND SPA until such time. We the staff have been doing our part in eradicating the lion fish by spearing them and frying them for dinner. We are promoting the ONE LOVE REGGAE CONCERT SERIES FEATURING TOOTS AND THE MAYTALS……ON TUESDAY NIGHT AT THE NEGRIL ESCAPE….SHOW STARTS AT 8.00PM AND ENDS AT MIDNIGHT …[Jamica time ;o)]

We may have some major delays getting to you for the pickups so please bear with us. If you are partying and diving remember to drink lots of water and GET some sleep BEFORE you dive. Remember safety first.
Some hotels are reviewing thier rates and packages and as such we will ammend the rates shortly.

Scuba in the rain

Hello Divers, here is a post update to keep you all informed of the recent activities.

We have been having a few divers coming in with us and they have been thrilled with the sighting of various marine life such as two HUGE southern sting rays, a couple of octopus… as well as several sightings of sharptail eels, flying gournards, dolphins and the discovery of a lovely field of queen conch.

The dive site at the Negril Escape is abundant with marine life and the ease of access makes it perfect to dive, both for beginners and experienced certified divers. I have been seeing a southern sting ray with a wing span approximately of six feet off that site on a regular basis and today Pinky, Sid, Maria and Bob saw two such beauties asleep on their dive. I dove with Witon, Pascaland William, you should have been there to see thier eyes….wide with excitement especially when they recognised the huge stingray one of the many creatures that I pointed out to them…. Its slower than we like business wise, however the underwater marine life don’t care, they are showing up in their numbers. Today’s dives (4 in all), TG, were awesome, lots of Rays, Sharp-tail Eels, High-hats, Flying Gournards, Puffer fishes, large Nurse Sharks as well as smaller ones..The Dolphins although seen often from a distance seem to be avoiding us these last days, but we know they will soon be back to their playful selves .

Congrats to the winners of the LIONFISH competition, thanks to Couples Swept Away Negril and the other sponsors, this was a great move and should be repeated ….after signing up we were caught up in a film making venture that took up more time than we anticipated……..so we missed out …oh well next time.

Lemon Sharks and Dolphins

Hello divers, The past weeks has been great! We have encountered a 6 foot Lemon shark at the Throne Room and have had the longest encounter with a Dolphin while diving…..a whole 25 minutes…watching it work on getting a fish out of a trap….The weather has been really great, except for a little rain, so bring an umbrella (LOL)….but this has brought in new schools of fish for us to feast our eyes on..

We are in the process of some changes, one is that we are relocating our base operation from the Mariner’s Negril Beach Club to our Negril Beach Village Shopping Centre beside Our Past Time Villas, closer to Sandals Negril.

Our shuttle services will be improved to enshure on time pickups and drop offs from any where in the Negril environs.

RHODES HALL PLANTATION

We will also be operating out of RHODES HALL PLANTATION as of May 1, 2010.We have been running an expidition in that area and have found that the divesites are in pristine conditions. We plan to include two dives out of a ten dive package to be done from that new location, OR YOU MAY JUST REQUEST TO DIVE THERE!

NOTE:::::: IF WE OR YOU COME ACROSS ANY ARTIFACTS WHILE DIVING THERE ………IT BELONGS TO THE SHOP…..AND THE JAMAICAN GOVERNMENT!!! eh hem,.

NEGRIL ESCAPE RESORT AND SPA

We will also be promoting the Negril Escape Resort and Spa as a dive and snorkel resort so that more “lay persons” may be able to participate in our exciteing pasttime of exploring the underwater world. The Negril Escape Resort is the PERFECT LOCATION for the timid/cautious/unsure diver to be introduced to the beautiful underwater sceenery.
